Create a Transaction Summary Report

You can quickly and easily create summary reports for your organization's transactions in Tithely Giving. Below we'll guide you through how to create a summary report, as well as breakdown the key terminology of your transactions and records along the way.

How to Create a Transaction Summary Report

  1. Select Giving.

  2. Select Transactions from the Giving menu.

  3. Click on the +Filter button and select the filters you'd like.

  4. Click the Summary button, which will generate once filters have been selected, to run a transaction summary.

  5. Review your Summary.

    Note: You can print or download the Summary as a PDF by clicking the 'Print' button. If the download button is greyed out please apply a filter such as a date range or other.

Tithely Tip

Utilize the Views feature in the page's upper right corner to enhance your efficiency. You can create and save a new view with a specific set of filters. This eliminates the need to manually input them each time, providing quick access to a tailored summary of your regularly used filters. However, please note that while the system saves the selected columns, it doesn't retain the column order for subsequent use of that view

Key Terms and Overview Information

Transaction Summary

The transaction summary will show information based on the filters that have been selected.

Filters

You can apply filters to your transactions. The filters available are:

  • Funds

  • Status

  • Locations

  • Product

  • Payment Type

  • Filter By Date

Status

Leave the ‘Status’ filter unselected to view a breakdown of all transactions with all status options. Here is a description for each status option:

  • Dispute Lost - the donor disputed the transaction, and the money was returned to the donor

  • Dispute Pending - the donor disputed the transaction, and it is pending the outcome from the bank

  • Failed - the donation has failed to process

  • Pending - the donation is still pending

  • Refunded - the donation has been refunded to the donor

  • Returned - a scanned check has been returned to the donor; the check funds would have never been deposited

  • Succeeded - the donation was made successfully

If you'd like to view a particular status, simply select the location filter and then select the location you'd like to view.

Funds

Leave the 'Funds' filter unselected to view a breakdown of giving to all fund types. Alternatively, you can select which funds you'd like to see a breakdown for if you're needing to look at a particular fund/giving type.

Location

Leave the Location filter unselected to view a breakdown of all locations individually with an individual total and their total amounts and number of transactions. If you'd like to view a particular location, select the location filter and then select the location you'd like to view.

Product

Leave unchecked to view a breakdown of all Product transactions (Tithe.ly Pay, Tithe.ly Events, Tithe.ly Giving). Select Giving Only to view Giving transactions.

Payment Type

Leave the 'Payment Type' filter unselected to view a breakdown of all transactions for all payment types. Filter transactions by selecting a specific payment type, such as bank, card, cash, or check.

Filter by Date

Filter transactions by specifying a date range.

Total

The Total area will display the sum of all transactions within your filters for a category such as gross and net amount, fees, and number of transactions.
