Steps to Edit a Transaction

Admins can edit transactions directly within the Giving platform to correct errors or update information as needed. Follow the steps below to edit a transaction and see what specific fields can be updated.

Steps to Edit a Transaction:

  1. Log into Tithely with the appropriate permission to access giving.

  2. From the dashboard, select the Giving.

  3. Click on Transactions from the menu.

  4. Scroll or use the search filters to find the specific transaction you want to edit.
    Note: You can search by the donor's name, date, or transaction amount.

  5. Once you've located the transaction, click on it to open the Transaction Details page.

  6. In the Transaction Details, you will see an Edit button. Click this to open the editing options.

  7. Depending on the type of transaction (Credit Card/ACH or Cash/Check), different fields will be available for editing:

    • Editable Fields for Credit Card (CC) / ACH Transactions:
      • Fund: Assign the transaction to a different fund.
    • Uneditable Fields for Credit Card (CC) / ACH Transactions:
      • Transaction Date: The date of the original transaction cannot be changed.
      • Transaction Amount: The donation amount remains fixed and cannot be edited.
    •  Editable Fields for Cash/Check Transactions:
      • Fund: Assign the transaction to a different fund.
      • Amount: Adjust the amount of the donation.
      • Gift Date: Adjust the date of the donation.
  8.  After making the necessary updates, click Save to apply your changes.
    Note: You will be redirected back to the transaction list with the updated information.
