Looking to connect your Tithely giving to Planning Center Online (PCO)? The new PCO integration will push giving records from Tithely into your PCO account automagically for you. How often and to what funds these gifts are recorded in PCO will be determined by the settings you have selected. We strongly recommend that you move to the 2.0 integration if you have not already.
Warning
If the integration is set up in both 1.0 and 2.0, transactions will duplicate in PCO.
You must have an active PCO Giving subscription for the Integration to work.

Looking for your Application ID and Secret Key in PCO? If you're logged into PCO, click here to be pointed to your API setup screen.
Tithely Tip
Planning Center recommends creating a New Personal Access Token for each integration with a clear name of what the token is used for. After you submit the New Personal Access Token, your Application ID and Secret Key will be generated in Planning Center to be used in this step of the integration setup.
-
Decide if you want to receive email notifications for the entire, if so toggle the enable emails to active and include the email address you'd like to receive emails notifications. Click Next when complete.
-
Choose the campuses you want to connect through the integration and click Next.
-
Select the campus settings (you can learn more about each of the settings in the Integration Campus Settings section below) and then click Next.
-
Confirm your selections and click Finish. If you need to make any changes click Edit beside each section.
-
Be sure to connect the rest of your Tithely Funds to PCO so that the giving syncs properly to the correct funds. Either click the "For more settings, check out fund maps" link or follow the instructions below to configure fund mapping. If you have multiple campuses, you will need to connect funds for each campus.
Depending on the settings you selected under PCO Batch Giving, you will see the most recent deposit sync and show in the dashboard if you selected Deposit or if you have Daily selected it will bring over the last 30 days of transactions. -
You will need to make sure that you remove the 1.0 integration if you have it set up to ensure that you do not experience duplicate records syncing to PCO. Follow the steps below to remove the 1.0 Integration.
Integration (Campus) Settings
Follow these steps to make changes to the campus settings:
-
Login to Tithely and select Giving from the Dashboard.
-
From the giving page, click the Global Settings button (the Profile Icon) on the bottom left corner of the navigation and choose Integrations.
-
Access the PCO integration by clicking the Configure button on the Integrations page.
-
Click the campus name you wish to work with under Manage Campus on the left navigation panel.
-
This will open the Campus Settings, where you can adjust the integration. View the chart below for a list of all the options and functionality available. The options selected on this page are autosave.
If you have multiple campuses, you will need to set up the campus settings for each campus location. Each campus's settings must be configured, and the enable campus toggled to active before syncing of that location's data to PCO will occur.
Options Available Under Campus Settings
Enable Sync |
This turns on the integration between Tithely and PCO for this campus. If it is inactive, no transactions from this campus will pass over into PCO. If its active transactions for this campus will push into PCO. By default, this is set to disabled. |
Enable Emails |
If active, the email addresses provided in the field below will receive an email every time Tithely pushes giving into PCO, if an error occurs, and if the integration becomes disabled. |
Default PCO Fund |
The default fund you select will be used if giving gets recorded to a fund in Tithely and you have not mapped a PCO fund up to it before the giving syncs into PCO. |
PCO Batch Grouping |
If you select Deposit*, this will create a new batch in PCO containing the transactions in your online gifts in the deposit (named Tithe.ly YYYY-MM-DD Card). In contrast, Daily** will create daily batches for all transactions (online and gifts recorded through Admin Batch Giving) that occurred during that day (named Tithe.ly YYYY-MM-DD). |
Automatically Commit Batches |
Batches must be "committed" in PCO to refund a deposit. Automatically committing batches allows the integration to sync refunds. If you select "no" an admin in PCO will need to manually review each batch before committing it. This will prevent the integration from sending /syncing refunds. |
Email Notification Addresses |
If you have Enable Emails active above, you can update the notification email addresses that will receive emails. Use a comma-separated list of emails to send to multiple recipients. |
Include Campus Name in Batch Name |
If you would like the specific campus name to populate in the batch name in PCO, select yes. This is helpful if you have multiple campuses being recorded in PCO. |
Connections
Connections are where you will find your Connect Funds and Connect Donors options. Connect Funds allows you to map your Tithe.ly funds with the funds in your PCO account. While Connect Donors allows you to make updates to the connection of people between Tithely and PCO to ensure that gifts are being mapped properly to the correct person in PCO.
For instance, you may have a Tithe.ly giving fund named Youth Missions and want all transactions for that fund to be recorded to the Missions Fund in PCO. If you do not map your funds, all gifts pushed into PCO will be recorded to the default fund selected as the Default PCO Fund in the Campus Settings.
Anytime you make changes to your funds in Tithely or in PCO, you will want to reconfigure the fund mapping within the integration.
To configure fund mapping, follow these steps:
-
Login to Tithely and select Giving from the Dashboard.
-
From the giving page, click the Global Settings button (the Profile Icon) on the bottom left corner of the navigation and choose Integrations.
-
Access the PCO integration by clicking the Configure button on the Integrations page.
-
Click the campus name you wish to work with under Manage Campus on the left navigation panel.
-
Scroll down to the bottom of the Campus Settings and find the Connections section. Click on the green Connect Funds button.
-
Select the green Refresh button to update the fund's list and ensure it's current.
-
Link each Tithely fund to a specific fund in PCO.
-
Once you have connected all of the funds, click the green Save button.
-
Then click the Back to Locations Settings at the top of the screen.

Connect Donors
Sometimes donors' donations won't flow over automatically from Tithe.ly to Planning Center! This may mean that the ID associated with the donor in both PCO and Tithe.ly don't match perfectly! If this is the case, you can follow these steps to update that ID:
To configure donor mapping, follow these steps:
-
Login to Tithely and select Giving from the Dashboard.
-
From the giving page, click the Global Settings button (the Profile Icon) on the bottom left corner of the navigation and choose Integrations.
-
Access the PCO integration by clicking the Configure button on the Integrations page.
-
Click the campus name you wish to work with under Manage Campus on the left navigation panel.
-
Scroll down to the bottom of the Campus Settings and find the Connections section; click on the green Connect Donors button.
-
Type in either the first name, last name or email of a donor
-
Click search.
-
Once the donor has populated, confirm the PCO People ID is correct. To do this, pull up the donor's profile in PCO. Then look to the top URL at PCO. In that URL, it will say "ACXXXXXX" with those X's being a set of numbers. You must copy and paste those numbers to where it says PCO People ID.
-
then click the green Update Donor Mapping button.

-
What happens when there is no matching donor in PCO? The sync will automatically create a new person in Planning Center People, and the transaction will be linked to the new person. Refer to Planning Center's help on how to handle duplicate people if you identify the new person to be a duplicate of another person in Planning Center (with a different email address).
*We recommend that you audit integrations on a bi-weekly basis to ensure that everything is working accordingly and no donations are incorrectly syncing
Integration Dashboard
An entry is created in the Dashboard any time data is sent by the integration (Tithely) to PCO. The dashboard serves as a history for you to cross-reference and reconcile what giving came into Tithely compared to what giving was sent to PCO.
You'll see your dashboard load once we send your first batch over. From then on, at night, we will sync any new transactions to PCO based on your PCO Batch Grouping selection made in your campus settings.

Login to Tithely and select Giving from the Dashboard.
-
From the giving page click the Global Settings button (the Profile Icon) on the bottom left corner of the navigation and choose Integrations.
-
Find the PCO integration and click Configure.

Select Dashboard on the left Navigation panel.
-
You will see a list of syncs we've made to PCO.

-
To return to the syncs (or batches) click the Return to Dashboard at the top.
-
Please Note: There are various things that can happen when Tithely tries to sync data to PCO.
-
If you see an Authentication error - your connection to PCO needs to be updated. Follow the steps in the update subdomain or API key section and ensure all your information is correct.
-
If you see a message that states An error occurred. The Integrations Team receives a notice about all errors from the integration. If your configuration settings appear correct and the error has not been resolved in a few days, don't hesitate to contact us.
Move Historical Data into PCO
When you set up the integration in 2.0 it will sync the most recent deposit if you have Deposit selected in your PCO Batch Grouping Settings. (This could cause a duplicate of a deposit that needs to be deleted in PCO). If you have Daily selected for PCO Batch Grouping Settings, it will bring over the last 30 days of donations.
Update Application ID and Secret Code
Sometimes you may change your PCO account's Application ID and Secret code. Doing this will break the connection between your Tithely account and your PCO account, which uses these components for the connection.
To update the PCO Application ID and Secret Code, follow these steps:
-
Login to Tithely and select Giving from the Dashboard.
-
From the giving page, click the Global Settings button (the Profile Icon) on the bottom left corner of the navigation and choose Integrations.
-
Access the PCO integration by clicking the Configure button on the Integrations page.
-
Click Settings on the left-hand side navigation bar.
-
Scroll down to Integrations and click Update Credentials.
-
Update the Application ID and Secret Code and click Connect to PCO. Navigate to PCO to find these.
Uninstall the 1.0 Integration
Once you have set up the 2.0 Integration, you must ensure that your 1.0 integration is disabled. Otherwise, duplicate giving will be synced into PCO.
-
Click on the Back to Product Suite link at the top of the screen (if in the integration).
-
Select Giving from the left navigation bar > Then click on Back to Tithe.ly 1.0.
-
Then click on My Churches on the left.
-
Click on Edit Organization (you will need to do this for each campus that you have the integration set up in).
-
Once the Organization Settings open up, click on Integrations at the top.
-
From here, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Delete to remove your PCO integration.
You will need to repeat steps 3-6 for every campus/location you have set up using the 1.0 integration. If you do not turn off the integration in a campus giving from that campus will continue to sync to Planning Center and cause duplicate gifts.
What Syncs with PCO?
Tithely Donations (Credit/Debit) | Yes |
