Adding OAuth to Planning Center Online (PCO) Integration

Summary: This article provides a step-by-step guide for updating your existing Planning Center Online (PCO) integration to use our new, more secure OAuth connection. This one-time update is required for all accounts that set up their PCO integration prior to July 2024 to ensure continued seamless functionality.


Before You Begin

  • You must be an Account Owner or an Admin in your Tithely account to perform this update.

  • You will need the login credentials (username and password) for your Planning Center Online account. The user must have permissions within PCO to authorize app integrations.


Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log into your Tithely account.

  2. Select Global Settings in the bottom-left menu.

  3. Select Integrations from the settings list.

  4. Find the Planning Center integration and click the Configure button.

  5. In the integration configuration screen, click the Settings tab.

  6. Scroll down and click the button labeled Update Your Connection to PCO.

  7. On the Update Credentials page that appears, scroll to the bottom to find the OAuth 2.0 Authentication section.

  8. Click the button that says Connect with OAuth 2.0.

  9. You will be redirected to the Planning Center login page. Enter your PCO credentials and log in to authorize the connection.

  10. After successful authentication, you will be redirected back to the Tithely Integrations page. A confirmation message will indicate that your integration has been successfully updated.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I don't see the 'Update Your Connection' button? This button will only appear for accounts using the older integration method. If you do not see this button, your connection is likely already using the new OAuth method, and no action is required from you.

  • What happens if I enter the wrong PCO password? The authentication will fail, and Planning Center will show an error message. Simply return to Tithely and try the process again, ensuring you are using the correct PCO administrator credentials.
