Manage your church group effortlessly from your mobile device using the Church App! This article walks you through editing settings as a group leader, including deleting messages, adding/removing leaders or members, and adjusting group settings like name and visibility. Learn how to review new member requests and share your group seamlessly. Make the most of your leadership role with these simple steps to enhance group management and communication.
As a group leader, you are able to manage nearly all aspects of your group from the Church App! If you find you need to make more significant changes we recommend making these on your desktop in Tithely People. In this article, we will cover all the settings you are able to edit in the Church App as a group leader.
Deleting Messages in the Group Chat
- Launch the Church App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Groups.
- Select the group you would like to edit.
Note: You must already be set as a leader to edit in the Church App. If there are no leaders set for a group this will need to be set in Tithely People on a desktop. - Select Chat.
- Press and hold the message you would like to remove until a pop-up appears.
- Select Delete Message.
Adding and Removing Group Leaders
- Launch the Church App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Groups.
- Select the group you would like to edit.
Note: You must already be set as a leader to edit in the Church App. If there are no leaders set for a group this will need to be set in Tithely People on a desktop. - Select Members.
- Tap on the member's icon you would like to edit.
- Select to:
- Remove Member
- Make Leader
- Remove as Leader
- Confirm or cancel changes in the warning pop-up.
- Swipe down on the card to exit edit mode.
Removing Group Members
- Launch the Church App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Groups.
- Select the group you would like to edit.
Note: You must already be set as a leader to edit in the Church App. If there are no leaders set for a group this will need to be set in Tithely People on a desktop. - Select Members.
- Tap on the member's icon you would like to edit.
- Select to:
- Remove Member
- Make Leader
- Remove as Leader
- Confirm or cancel changes in the warning pop-up.
- Swipe down on the card to exit edit mode.
Edit Group Settings
- Launch the Church App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Groups.
- Select the group you would like to edit.
Note: You must already be set as a leader to edit in the Church App. If there are no leaders set for a group this will need to be set in Tithely People on a desktop. - Select Settings.
- Select Edit In the top right corner.
- You are able to make changes to:
- Group Name

Header Image
- Select Choose Image or Replace Image to add a new image.
Note: You will need to allow access to your photo library to upload an image. - Select Save.
- Select Remove Image to reset to the default image.
- Select Choose Image or Replace Image to add a new image.

Group Access
- Toggle On to make your group visible to the public.
- Toggle Off to make your group private.

- Set a description of your group.
- Select Save.
Note: You can select Cancel at the top to cancel your changes.
Reviewing New Member Request
- Launch the Church App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Groups.
- Select the group you would like to edit.
Note: You must already be set as a leader to edit in the Church App. If there are no leaders set for a group this will need to be set in Tithely People on a desktop. - Select Requests.
Note: Requests are only for Private Groups. For Public Groups, members can join without requesting.
- Review all new member requests.
- Select Decline or Accept new member requests.
Sharing Your Group
- Launch the Church App on your mobile device.
- Navigate to Groups.
- Select the group you would like to share.
Note: All members can share your group. - Select Invite+.
- From your phone's share settings select how you would like to share your group.
- Your invited member will be prompted to download the Church App.
- Once the Church App is downloaded your new member will automatically be added to your group.
