Summary: Viewing transaction details in Tithely is streamlined for efficiency. This guide helps you navigate the process of viewing transactions, using date filter pills, applying custom searches, formatting columns, and exporting data.
Before You Begin
Permissions: You must be an Account Owner, Admin, or have Limited Access with permission to the Giving product.
Time Zones: The reporting of transactions is determined by the time zone of the computer being used to access the data.
Mandatory Date Filter: A date filter is always applied to the Transactions table to ensure reliable loading. You can change the date range, but you cannot clear it entirely.
1-Year Display Limit: The system will display a maximum of one calendar year of transactions in the web interface. To view data spanning more than a year, you must export the results.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Searching & Viewing Transactions
Log into your Tithely account and select Giving.
Select Transactions from the Giving menu.
Search for a record. In the search bar, type the first name, last name, or email address associated with a transaction.
View the details. The details are shown as a single line item based on the columns you've chosen. To view complete details, simply click on the transaction.
Note: The table displays 20 transactions at a time. A floating indicator at the bottom of the table clearly shows the total number of transactions within your current search (e.g., "Showing 1 - 20 of 401 Transactions").
Using the Date Filter
When you navigate to the Transactions page, the date filter automatically defaults to the "Last 90 Days".
Click the active Date Filter pill at the top of the table.
Select a preset range:
Today, Yesterday, Last 7 Days, Last 30 Days, Last 90 Days, or Last 12 Months.
Create a custom range (Optional).
Use the "Created on or After / Before" fields within the dropdown.
An interactive calendar picker will appear, allowing you to select precise start and end dates.
Click Apply.
Filtering by Other Criteria
Click the +Filter button.
Select the criteria you want to filter by:
Location, Funds, Amount, Status, Deposit Status, Payment Type.
Click Apply.
Visibility Tip: Any filters you apply (such as a specific "Location") will prominently display as individual "pills" next to the date filter at the top of the table, making it easy to see exactly how your data is sliced.
Showing, Hiding, and Re-ordering Columns
Click the Columns button (the grid of 9 squares at the top right).
Show/Hide a column. Click the checkbox next to the column name to show or hide it. The page will update live. (Default columns: First Name, Last Name, Location Name, Transaction Date/Time, Fees).
Re-order columns. Hover your mouse over the light gray icon to the right of the column name. Drag the column up or down and drop it in your preferred order.
Creating a Saved View
Set up your preferred filters and columns.
Click the Views button (the eye icon on the top right).
Click the green Create button.
Title the view.
Click Create New View. (Note: The saved view will lock in the exact filters and columns displayed at the time of creation).
Exporting Transactions & Large Data Queries
Set your filters and date ranges.
Export standard ranges (under 1 year). Click the Export button at the top right corner. A CSV file will download directly to your computer.
Export large data ranges (over 1 year). If you set a custom date range spanning more than 1 year, the table will not load the results on the screen. Instead, you will see a message: "These results span a large date range. For date ranges over a year, exporting is the best way to see everything."
Action: Click the Download Results button. An "Exporting" modal will appear, informing you that the massive CSV file will be emailed to you shortly.
(If you don't want to export, simply narrow your date range to less than a year to view results back in the table).
Running a Transaction Summary
Select your desired filters (Date, Fund, Location, etc.).
Click the Summary button (this button generates once filters have been selected).
Review your Summary. You can print or download the Summary as a PDF by clicking the Print button.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
I can't find a transaction from last year. Where did it go? Your date filter is likely sitting on the default "Last 90 Days." Look at the prominent filter pills at the top of the screen to verify your search parameters, and adjust the date range to include last year.
Why can't I clear the date filter completely? A Date Filter is mandatory. To ensure the system performs quickly and reliably when searching through thousands of records, a timeframe must always be applied.
My table is blank and telling me to export. Why? The system has a hard limit and will never display more than 1 year of transactions in the web interface. If your search spans multiple years (e.g., for end-of-year statements), you must use the "Download Results" prompt to receive the data via email.
My table results look wrong. How do I fix them? Always check the filter "pills" at the top of your screen. It's the quickest way to see if you accidentally left a "Location" or "Fund" filter active from a previous search.
