Summary: This guide provides a complete overview of the Tithely Messaging Inbox. Learn how to use filters, search for specific conversations, and manage messages in bulk to keep your communications organized and efficient.
Before You Begin
-
You must have a user role with permissions to access Messaging. Please contact your account administrator if you do not see this option in your menu.
Using Filters to Find Messages
Filters allow you to narrow down your inbox view to find specific types of messages quickly.
-
From the main Tithely menu, select Messaging > Inbox.
-
Click the +Filter button at the top of the inbox.
-
Select your desired filters and click the Apply button.
You can filter by the following criteria:
-
Message Type:
-
SMS
-
Email
-
Show Blasts
-
Show Keywords
-
Show Follow-Ups
-
-
Status:
-

-
Searching for Messages
The search function looks for contact names and keywords within the body of messages you've sent or received.
-
Navigate to your Messaging > Inbox.
-
Enter a contact's name or a specific keyword (e.g., "Christmas," "VBS," "Welcome") into the search bar at the top of the page.
-
The inbox will update to show only matching results.
Mass Managing Messages
You can mark multiple messages as read/unread or archive/unarchive them at the same time.
-
Navigate to your Messaging > Inbox.
-
Hover over the avatar (the circle with initials or a picture) next to a message and click the checkbox that appears.
-
Continue selecting all desired messages, or use the select all checkbox at the top of the list.
-
A new action menu will appear at the top. Click the appropriate button to Mark as Read/Unread or Archive/Unarchive.
❗ Important Note on Archiving: Archiving removes the entire conversation from your main inbox view; it does not delete individual messages. All past and future messages with that contact will be found in the Archived view until you unarchive the conversation. Messages cannot be permanently deleted.
Understanding Message Types and Statuses
-
Automated Follow-Up Messages: When an automated message from a Follow-Up sequence is sent, a record of it will appear in your inbox. You can click on this message to be taken directly to that specific step in the Follow-Up sequence.
-
Failed Messages: On rare occasions, a message may fail to send due to carrier issues. When this happens, an error message will be displayed in the conversation thread explaining the reason for the failure. In most cases, waiting a few minutes and resending the message will resolve the issue.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
I can't find a conversation with someone I know I messaged. The conversation is likely archived. Use the +Filter button and select the Status: Archived option to view your archived conversations. From there, you can select the conversation and unarchive it to move it back to your main inbox.
-
What's the difference between a Blast, Keyword, and Follow-Up message?

-
Keywords: Automated responses triggered when someone texts a specific word (e.g., "CONNECT") to your number.
