Updating Your Existing Android App

When updating your existing android app there is information we will need from your original app provider/developer.

You will also need to ensure that your Android App is currently on your Google Play Console/Developer Account. If it isn’t you will need to reach out to your previous provider/developer to get it transferred as well as requesting the below information be sent to you.

  • the keystore file

  • the keystore password

  • the certificate alias

  • the certificate password

Sometimes this can be private information that the previous provider isn’t willing to share. In that case we will need to submit a separate new app for Google Play/Android users. If they are willing, once you receive that information forward that in an email to appdeployment@yourgiving.co. Be sure to include your name and the name of your organization so that we are certain of its origin.

This information will enable us to submit an update to your current app on Google Play. This allows users to simply update the app they currently have installed and it will now have all of your new content.
