Change/Reset a User Password in Sites

How to reset your password in the event you can't login to your site, how to change your password, and how to change the password for another website user as an administrator on sites. 

User Permissions needed to access Sites
Account Owner, Admin, Limited Acess User with permissions granted for Sites, or Admin Permissions granted directly on the Tithely Site. If you have additional questions, please reference this article.

How to Reset Your Password

If you've forgotten your password and you need to reset it, follow the below instructions.

  1. Navigate to the Login page of your website (yourwebsite.com/login)
  2. Click Forgot Your Password?

  3. Type in your email address and hit Submit.
    You will then be emailed with instructions on how to update your password.

If you forget the email address that your account is under, you can ask another Site Admin to figure out what your account email is, or you can contact Tithely support, and we can help you out.

Password Requirements

Passwords must contain at least 8 characters, and cannot have more than 3 repeating or sequential characters (ie: aaa, abc, 111, 123). It must not include the word 'Tithely' or your first or last name. Additionally, your password must not have been compromised in any database breaches (not Tithely servers).

How to Change Your Password

  1. Login to your Tithely account and select Sites from the left menu. Or login to your site directly.
  2. Click on your profile icon at the top right corner of your website.
  3. Select Change Password from the dropdown.

  4. Enter your new password here and Save Password.

Change a User Password as an Admin

If a user has forgotten their password and needs to reset it, as an administrator of the website, you can reset passwords for them. Follow the below instructions.

  1. Login to your Tithely account and select Sites from the left menu. Or login to your site directly.
  2. Click on the Admin button at the top right of your website and select People/Users from the dropdown.
  3. Click the more option (3 dots) next to the user you'd like to change the password for.
    You can either send them a login email or Select Edit from the dropdown to set a new password for them.

  4. Select Change Password from the left menu.

  5. Enter the new password and click Save Password

Help! I'm locked out of my account

If you have entered an incorrect password multiple times, your account may have been temporarily locked for security reasons. We understand that regaining access to your account is important, and we're here to help you resolve this issue promptly.
To regain access:

Internal Note: If you come across a situation where a user is locked out of their account, don't worry! As a team member, you can help them regain access by following these simple steps:
1. Access their Tithely Site
2. Select the Admin menu, then "People/Users".
3. Take a moment to locate the user who is currently locked out from their account. Scan through the user list until you find their name. Tip: Can't find them? Try searching in Archived users using Filters.
4. Now, click on the dropdown menu or the more options button situated next to their name. A list of options will appear.
5. Among the options, look for the "Unlock Account" feature, and give it a click. Wonderful! You've successfully unlocked their account. Reach out to the user and let them know they can now try logging in again.
