Handling Emails from Google Play or Apple Developer

Summary: Learn why you might receive urgent-looking policy or compliance emails from Google Play or Apple Developer and what steps, if any, you need to take.

Before You Begin

  • Tithely Manages Your Account: Tithely manages your church app's App Store and Google Play developer accounts on your behalf.

  • Don't Panic: Most emails you receive directly from Apple or Google are automated, standard policy updates or general reminders sent to all account holders.

How to Evaluate Developer Emails

Since Tithely manages your app submissions and technical maintenance, you typically do not need to take action on routine emails. Follow these guidelines when you receive a message:

  1. Review the subject line and email content. Common, routine subjects include:

    • "[Reminder] Register your apps and signing keys..."

    • "Google Play Developer Program Policy Update"

    • "Action Required: Your app is not compliant..."

  2. Ignore general policy updates and broad technical reminders. Tithely actively monitors Apple and Google policies and handles any necessary technical updates or compliance actions behind the scenes so you don't have to.

  3. Identify specific account alerts. You only need to take action if the email explicitly states that your specific church app was removed, suspended, or rejected, or if you notice your app is no longer functioning correctly.

  4. Contact Tithely Support. If you receive an app-specific suspension or rejection notice, or experience a break in functionality, reach out to our team immediately, and we will investigate the issue.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Why am I receiving these emails if Tithely manages my app?

Google and Apple automatically send these notices to the account owner's email address on file. Because you own the developer account, you will receive these broad communications even though Tithely acts as an admin to manage the technical requirements on your behalf.

  • Do I need to forward every email from Google or Apple to Tithely?

No. You do not need to forward general policy updates or reminders. Our team receives similar notifications and is already aware of them. Only reach out if your specific app has been removed, suspended, or rejected.

  • Are there any emails that require my immediate financial action?

Yes. While Tithely manages the app itself, you are responsible for maintaining your developer accounts. Apple requires you to renew your Apple Developer Membership yearly. If you receive an email regarding an expired membership or payment failure from Apple, you must log in and pay the fee to prevent your app from being removed from the App Store. (Google Play only requires a one-time setup fee).
