Before You Begin
App Installation: Ensure you have the latest version of the Tithely Giving App installed on your mobile device.
System Permissions: You must allow the Tithely App to send notifications in your phone's system settings (iOS or Android) for this feature to work.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Tap Set Your Own Reminders. If you are opening the app for the first time since this feature was enabled, you may see a prompt immediately. If not, look for the option to "Set your own reminders" within the app interface.
Allow Notifications in your device settings. If you haven't previously granted permission, the app will direct you to a "Turn on notifications" screen.
Tap to go to Device Settings.
Select Notifications.
Toggle Allow Notifications to ON.
Return to the Tithely App.
Toggle the Giving Reminders switch to ON. Once permissions are granted, you will see a control for giving reminders in your notification center. Switch it to ON. The default schedule is set to Every Sunday at 8:00 AM.
Customize your schedule. Tap Edit Schedule to change when you receive the reminder.
Frequency: Choose from Weekly, Biweekly, Monthly, 1st & 15th, Quarterly, Biannually, or Annually.
Date & Time: Select the specific day of the week (or month) and the exact hour you want the notification to appear.
Preview the reminder (Optional). To see what the alert looks like, tap Send test notification. A sample notification will fire immediately. Tapping this notification will take you directly into the donation flow.
Manage or Turn Off reminders. If you wish to stop the reminders, simply Toggle the switch to OFF. You will be asked if you want to Pause the reminders or Edit the settings instead.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
I don't see the pop-up prompt to turn on notifications. If you have opened the app previously, you will not see the automatic pop-up. You must manually tap "Set your own reminders" to access the settings.
Why am I not receiving the reminders? Double-check your phone's Device Settings. Even if the feature is toggled ON inside the Tithely app, your phone's operating system (iOS or Android) will block them if "Allow Notifications" is turned off for the Tithely application.
