What happens when an account is deleted from the Giving App?
The following things take place when a user deletes their App account:
- The user is logged out of the Giving App.
- The login information for a user (username, email, and password) is removed.
- We remove app-related data and activity that has been stored for that user
- A "Request for Removal" request will be sent to the Account Owner of the connected Tithely account. This request informs the church that they should remove their saved data from their database. See [Requests for Removal in People] for more information.
Will someone who deletes their giving account still receive a tax statement?
Yes, even with a deleted giving account, that person will still receive a tax statement at the end of the year.
Where can I delete my account?
At this time, you can only delete your donor account on our free Tithely Giving App.
Before Deleting your account
Before deleting your account, we advise you to remove your payment methods as well as cancel any active recurring gifts.
- Action Step 1: Log in to your donor account. You can do this either through the free Tithely Giving App or by visiting give.tithe.ly.
- Action Step 2: Head to the Recurring tab. Ensure there are no recurring gifts scheduled. If there are, follow the instructions to stop them.
- Action Step 3: Go to the Payments tab. Here, remove any payment methods you have on file. Doing so ensures no future transactions can occur.
How to Delete a Donor Account in the Tithely Giving App
- Once you have completed the above steps, navigate to the Menu (
) tab, scroll to the bottom of the page, and select Delete Account.
