Sending Push Notifications🎥

Push notifications are a fantastic way to connect with your users regularly. You can send an encouragement, remind them of events or small groups, or for any other reason, you may want to reach out to your users. 

Note: Currently, the Church App only sends Banner notifications, not Badge notifications.

In this article, we will cover sending push notifications to all of your app users, if you would like to learn how to only send push notifications to certain people check out our group's notifications article.

Check out our push notification overview video, and then follow the steps below.

Sending Immediate Notifications

  1. Log into Tithely as an Admin.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Push Notifications.
  4. Select Add New.
  5. Enter details for the notification.
    • Title
    • Message
    • Optional Website Link
    • Optional Image
  6. Select Filter by groups. (Optional)
  7. Check the box for the relevant groups. (Optional)
  8. Select Send.
    Note: This will send your message immediately to all users.

Scheduling Push Notifications

  1. Log into Tithely as an Admin.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Push Notifications.
  4. Select Scheduled from the top menu.
  5. Select Add New.
  6. Enter details for the notification.
    • Title
    • Message
    • Optional Website Link
    • Optional Image
  7. Select Filter by groups. (Optional)
  8. Check the box for the relevant groups. (Optional)
  9. Select a Scheduled date and time.
  10. Select Send to schedule your notifications.

Scheduling Recurring Push Notifications

  1. Log into Tithely as an Admin.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Push Notifications.
  4. Select Scheduled from the top menu.
  5. Select Add New.
  6. Enter details for the notification.
    • Title
    • Message
    • Optional Website Link
    • Optional Image
  7. Select Filter by groups. (Optional)
  8. Check the box for the relevant groups. (Optional)
  9. Select a Recurrence Rule.
    Note: You will need to create an RRULE and enter this in the Recurrence Rule text area. You can generate a rule here: https://icalendar.org/rrule-tool.html (icalendar.org is not connected or endorsed by Tithely.)
  10. Select Send to schedule your notifications.

Tithely Tip

If a user is not receiving push notifications ensure that push notifications are enabled on the user's mobile device and they have selected to receive notifications from this group in the app.
