Managing the Tabs on Your App Dashboard

Summary: Learn how to customize your app's navigation by adding, rearranging, and removing tabs from your Main Navigation Bar and the More Menu.

Before You Begin

  • Understanding Tab Locations: Tabs placed under Main Tabs appear in the bottom navigation bar of your app (you can only have up to four Main Tabs). Tabs placed under More Tabs will appear when a user selects the hamburger menu icon.

  • Character Limits: When creating tabs, short names must be between 2 and 11 characters. Long names (which appear in the more menu next to the icon) must be between 2 and 42 characters.

  • Livestream Updates: When you add a new Livestream, your old Livestream Tab must be permanently deleted, and the new Livestream Tab must be made active.

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Log into your Tithely Admin account, select Apps from the main menu, and then select Tabs.

  2. Drag an existing tab from the More Tabs area up to the Main Tabs area to feature it on your bottom navigation bar (remember, you can only have up to four).

  3. Hover your cursor over any tab until it turns into a four-arrow icon, then click and drag it to rearrange the order of your tabs.

  4. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the + icon to add a brand new tab to your More Menu.

  5. Edit the new tab's details by selecting the icon on the left to choose an image, and typing in your desired Name and Long Name.

  6. Click the Down Arrow on an existing tab to temporarily remove it. You can check Hide in More Menu (our suggested option) or Temporarily Deactivate this tab.

  7. Click the Trash Can icon on the right side of a tab if you wish to permanently delete it from all menus.

  8. Click the Save button at the top of the Tabs page to confirm and publish any of the changes you've made.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Why do Settings, Notifications, Downloads, and Search appear in my admin dashboard but not on the actual app? These appear in your admin tab area as placeholders. They represent core functions that exist in the app but do not technically have their own standalone visual tabs in the navigation menus.

  • What does the downloads tab do? The downloads tab provides a place for Android users only to download audio files. It is not actually a separate tab in the live app; it simply acts as a function within the audio area for those specific users.

  • Why can't I add a fifth tab to my bottom menu? Due to screen size and design best practices, the Main Tabs area is strictly limited to a maximum of four tabs. Any additional tabs must be placed in the More Tabs section.
