This guide shows admins how to update individual contact information in Tithely People, ensuring members receive church updates via their preferred email or phone number. Whether they have a new number, prefer SMS over email, or haven't opted in yet, this step-by-step guide makes communication quick and convenient.
Messaging works with Tithely People, all of your contacts are added and managed in People. In order to receive email or SMS messages from your church, a person needs to have their Messaging Contact fields filled out. This can be imported into People.
If someone would like to receive email or SMS messaging updates on a different phone number or email address than is listed for them in People, you can update their Messaging Contact information in People.

How to Add or Change Messaging Contact Information for a Person in People
Note: If you have imported your contacts into People, it can take a few days for the contact messaging number to populate.

Login to your Tithely account

Select People from the left-hand menu

Locate and click on the person you'd like to update your messaging contact information for.

Click the gear icon at the top right of the person's profile and select Edit.

In the Messaging Contact area, enter the phone number and email address at which the person would like to receive updates.

Click Save Changes at the bottom of the People card.
