Summary: Learn how to navigate the newly updated Bank Deposits page to accurately track donor gifts, understand multi-fund allocations, and reconcile your bank statements.
Before You Begin
Understand the Data Update: We recently updated this page to provide a more accurate picture of giving, especially for donors who split a single gift across multiple funds. If your numbers look different than they used to, it is because they now perfectly match the actual fund allocations your donors intended.
Keep Processing Times in Mind: There is a standard processing period (typically 2 business days) between when a donor gives and when funds are released to your bank. A single deposit batches everything that cleared that day, which may include gifts made across several different days.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Review the Overview Card to see the summary of everything included in the deposit. Match the Total Deposited amount to your bank statement first. (Note: The formula is Total Received − Total Fees − Total Refunds + Total Adjustments ± Other = Total Deposited).

Review the Details by Fund table to see exactly how the deposit breaks down across your funds for your accounting software. Use the "Deposited" column for entering your income.
Click the Arrow next to any fund row in the Details by Fund table to expand it. This breaks down the totals further into Received, Fees, Refunds, and Adjustments.

Click the Show Deposit Activity button in the top right of the Overview card to open a panel showing the complete money trail, organized by donor gift.

Click the View Transactions link (or download the CSV Export) to see a complete, itemized list of every single fund allocation that contributed to the deposit.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
My Total Deposited doesn't match my bank statement. What should I check?: First, check if the status is "In Transit" (meaning your bank hasn't confirmed receipt yet). If it says "Paid," use the deposit formula in the Overview section to calculate the amounts line by line. Pay close attention to Refunds or the "Other" line.
Why does the total number of Transactions add up to more than my No. of Gifts?: "No. of Gifts" counts donor giving sessions, while "Transactions" counts individual fund allocations. If a donor splits one gift between two funds, it counts as one gift but two transactions. Both numbers are correct.
Why does a donor appear more than once in Deposit Activity?: Each entry represents a single gift, not a donor. If they made two separate gifts during the deposit period, they appear twice.
Why does a gift entry show a negative total in Deposit Activity?: A fully refunded gift will show a negative total because the refund returns the full gross amount to the donor, while the processing fee is separately credited back to your church.
Can a deposit total be negative?: Yes, in rare cases. If the total amount refunded during a period exceeds the total new giving that cleared, Tithely will pull a small amount from your bank account to cover the difference.
What are Total Adjustments in the Overview?: When a gift is refunded, a small portion of the original processing fee is returned to the church. This positive amount partially offsets the refund.
What is the "Other" line in the Overview?: This captures deposit-level events not tied to a specific gift or fund, such as a cancelled deposit, a failed deposit, or a temporary reserve hold. If you see an amount here you don't recognize, please contact Support.
Where did the transaction list go?: The old right-side transaction panel was showing inaccurate data and has been replaced. You can now use Show Deposit Activity or View Transactions for a more accurate breakdown.
