What happens when my subscription payment method fails? Managing your subscriptions and billing in Tithely is simple, but sometimes a credit card payment may fail. If this happens, there is no need to take immediate action— unless you are aware of changes to your card or need to use a different payment method. Tithely will automatically attempt to charge the card again. Below, we outline what happens when a payment fails and what to expect before a subscription is canceled
What Happens When a Payment Fails?
Important: Payment Failure Warning Should your payment method expire or fail to process, our system will automatically retry the charge up to 8 times over the subsequent two weeks. If the payment cannot be secured by the end of this period, your subscription will be canceled.
How Many Times Will Tithely Retry the Payment?
- Tithely will retry the payment eight times over a two week period.
- If all attempts fail, the subscription will be suspended/canceled.
What Should Admins Do?
- No action is required immediately, as the system will attempt to charge again up to eight more times over a series of two weeks.
- If the payment continues to fail, the Account Owner or Admin should update the payment method. Each time your payment method fails the account owner will receive an email.
