How to Manage Your Engiven Dashboard and Customize Giving Widgets

Summary: This guide walks you through the Engiven dashboard, showing you how to view giving reports, create new donation funds, and customize your crypto and stock giving widgets. Following these steps will help you get your giving pages set up and ready for your website.

Before You Begin

  • You must have an active Engiven account.
  • Your account is ready "out of the box." You will receive an email with your default crypto and stock widget URLs. These links will work immediately and are tied to a "General Fund."
  • The steps below are for customizing this default setup (e.g., adding your logo or more funds).

Part 1: How to View Reports and Resend Receipts

  1. Navigate to Giving Reports in the left-hand menu. This is where all your stock and crypto gifts will appear in one list.
  2. Click on any Gift in the list to see its full details, including the fund, gross/net value, timestamp, and donor information.
  3. (Optional) Click the 'Resend Receipt' button to email the donor a copy of their IRS-compliant receipt. This is very helpful at tax time.
  4. (Optional) If a donor made a mistake (e.g., misspelled their email), you can edit their information, click Save, and then click 'Resend Receipt'.

Part 2: How to Customize Your Giving Widgets

This is a two-part process: first, you create your funds, and second, you add those funds to your widgets.

  1. Create your Funds. Navigate to Funds in the left-hand menu and click 'Create a Fund'. Give it a name (e.g., "Building Fund," "Missions") and click Submit. Repeat this for all the funds you want to offer.
  2. Assign your Funds to a Widget. Navigate to Giving Widgets.
  3. Click 'Edit' next to your Crypto Widget or Stock Widget.
  4. Add or Remove the funds you just created. This will control which options appear in the dropdown menu for your donors.
  5. Find your Widget URL. Back on the main Giving Widgets screen, click 'Show Widget URL'.
  6. Copy this URL and paste it onto your church's website (e.g., as a "Give Crypto" or "Give Stock" button). This is the public link your donors will use.

Part 3: The Easiest Way to Add Your Logo

This single step will add your logo to both your giving widgets and your donor receipts.

  1. Navigate to Manage Donation Receipt in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click 'Upload New Logo'.
  3. Upload your church's logo file. Your widgets and receipts will now be branded.

Troubleshooting & FAQs

  • Do I have to do all this before I can accept crypto? No. Your account is "out of the box" ready. The email you receive will contain default widget URLs that work immediately. These steps are only for customizing the experience, such as adding your logo or specific funds.
  • How do I customize the colors and look of my widget? For basic branding, follow the "Easiest Way to Add Your Logo" in Part 3. For full customization (colors, text, etc.), you can create a Widget Template in the dashboard and then apply that template to your giving widgets.
  • A donor needs their receipt again. How do I send it? Go to Giving Reports, find the gift, and click on it. From the details page, simply click the 'Resend Receipt' button.
