If you are using an iPad, follow these instructions before opening a Kiosk Mode session on your browser. While Kiosk Mode is design with built in security features, there are a few recommended settings local to iPads that complement the security of Kiosk Mode and will enhance the donor experience. Additionally, it is recommended that you use Safari as the browser to host Kiosk Mode on an iPad.
The first of these recommended settings is Guided Access.
To turn on Guided Access:
- Open your settings.
- Tap Accessibility.
- Scroll down and tap on Guided Access.
- Toggle Guided Access to On.
- Tap Set Guided Access Passcode and enter any passcode known only to you and other admins.
- If desired, you can also toggle on Touch ID to end Guided Access.
The second key setting is to turn off AutoFill in Safari. While Kiosk Mode is built to protect user information, turning off AutoFill will give you and your users that extra piece of mind.
To turn off AutoFill:
- Open your settings.
- Scroll down and tap on Safari.
- Tap on Autofill.
- Toggle Use Contact Info to Off.
- Toggle Credit Cards to Off.
To turn off Siri & Search:
- Open your settings.
- Scroll down and tap on Safari.
- Tap on Siri & Search.
- Toggle Off the following:
- Learn from this app
- Show App in Search
- Show in App
- Show on Home Screen
Disable Apple Pay
Note: While it may be impossible for a donor to make a donation using your Apple Pay because they need to scan your face, use fingerprint, or a passcode. This is an extra step to protect your accounts.

Open device settings.

Scroll down and tap on Wallet & Apple Pay.

Toggle Apple Cash to off.

Tap on any of your cards that are visible and tap to remove them.
Note: Removing your cards only takes them off this device and will not remove them from your wallet on other devices.
Finally, you need to make sure your iPad doesn’t lock after a period of inactivity.
To turn off auto-lock:
- Open your settings.
- Tap Display & Brightness.
- Tap Auto-Lock.
- Select Never.
