Adding A Blog to Your Church App

Enhance your church's app with Tithely by seamlessly integrating a blog. This guide walks you through connecting your blog feed via RSS and manually adding posts, ensuring your community stays engaged with your ministry's stories. From troubleshooting RSS feed issues to optimizing content visibility, discover how to keep your congregation informed and connected. Follow these simple steps for a dynamic and interactive church app experience

Connecting a Blog Feed

  1. Log into Tithely as an Admin.

  2. Select Apps.

  3. Select Blogs.

  4. Select RSS Feeds.

  5. Select Add New.
  6. Enter the RSS Feed for the blog you would like to link.

  7. Enter a Tab Name. (Optional)
    Note: If left blank only an icon will appear.

  8. Enter a Long Tab Name.
  9. Select if this feed is Active or Deactivated.
  10. Select Save.

IMPORTANT: If you are having issues adding your RSS Feed URL, it is possible that your feed is not valid. The RSS Feed must pass specific criteria. Please use rssboard.org RSS validator or W3C Feed validator to check if your feed is valid. While there are other feed validators out there, these listed validating tools take into consideration all criteria needed for validation on the Church App.

Note: RSS feeds refresh/fetch updates on a schedule. Every hour, a job is started to update the feed. Sometimes a job can take 1-2 hours to finish, which is why feeds aren't updated immediately.

Manually Adding Blog Posts

  1. Log into Tithely as an Admin.
  2. Select Apps.
  3. Select Blogs.
  4. Select Add New.

  5. Enter the blog Title.
  6. Enter the blog Subtitle.
  7. Enter an Author.
  8. Add a publish Date.
  9. Add Keywords.
  10. Upload an Image.
  11. Select if you would like to display:
    • Show Header
    • Show Author
    • Show Date
  12. Enter the blog content.
  13. Select Save.

Please note that once you save the post, it will appear in your Church App immediately. The date field is not for scheduling the post but rather for using it as a date reference. Currently, the Church App blog post creator does not support scheduling blog posts.

You are now able to add an RSS Feed blog to your app or manually add blogs to your app.
