Adding Videos To Your Church App

Adding videos to your church app is a great way to connect to with your church. Videos are useful for announcements, sermons, event highlights, and more. 

In this article, we are going to cover how to add videos to your custom church app. Your church app will be able to pull videos from a channel or a playlist on either Vimeo or Youtube. If you use a different platform to post your videos you may not be able to post these to your church app. 

User Permissions needed to access Apps
You must be the Account Owner to access Apps. If you have additional questions please reference this article.

Adding Youtube

1. Log into your Tithely account.
2. Select Apps.
3. Select Video.
4. Select Add New.
5. Select if you would like to connect to Vimeo or Youtube in the "What platform are you using?" drop-down menu.
6. In a new browser navigate to the Youtube channel or playlist you would like to add.
   • Locate Channel ID.
     • Sign in to YouTube.
     • In the top right, click your profile picture Settings.
     • From the left menu, select Advanced settings.
     • You'll see your channel's user and channel IDs.
     • Copy your Channel ID.
   • Locate Playlist ID
     • Navigate to your YouTube playlist.
     • In the URL address bar, you will see an address like this:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evFCkoWjS4E&list=PLIJdJzMrnzPRaeQKjV4gEP_xC2qhr4rTS 
     • The playlist ID is the characters and numbers after “list=” 
       The example above's ID is: PLIJdJzMrnzPRaeQKjV4gEP_xC2qhr4rTS 
     • Copy the playlist ID.
7. Navigate back to Tithely 
8. Paste your ID in the "Youtube Playlist or Channel Id" field.
9. Add a Tab Name.
10. Add a Long Tab Name.
11. Select if you would like this to be Active or Deactivated.
12. Select Save.

Troubleshooting Youtube Videos

1. Embedding is not enabled on your video.
   • Reference YouTubes help articles for more details: YouTube Support
2. Youtube has disabled embedding on your video.
   • Please reach out to Youtube or adjust your video if your video has been flagged and is no longer able to be embedded.

Adding Vimeo

1. Log into your Tithely account.
2. Select Apps.
3. Select Video.
4. Select Add New.
5. Select if you would like to connect to Vimeo or Youtube in the "What platform are you using?" drop-down menu.
6. In a new browser, navigate to your Vimeo account. 
7. Locate and copy your Vimeo username.
8. Navigate back to Tithely.
9. Paste your Vimeo Username in the "Vimeo Username" field.
10. Add a Tab Name.
11. Add a Long Tab Name.
12. Select if you would like this to be Active or Deactivated.
13. Select Save.
