Songs can be imported from a custom built import file or directly from Planning Center Online (PCO). If you choose to import using PCO, simply export your songs from their system and choose the Planning Center Online option when importing.

Fields that can be imported
The following information can be imported for songs.
- Song Title
- Status (Published or Archived)
- Song Type (Song or Item)
- CCLI Number (This is the Christian Copyright Licensing International Number given to most modern worship songs. This is used as a song identifier to all songs used in CCLI. The easiest way to find out if a song has a CCLI number is to search this through CCLI Songselect.)
- Song to Learn (set to Yes or Y to enable)
- Allow Downloads (set to Yes or Y to enable)
- Song Video Link
- Song Audio Link
You can also add in arrangement details for songs. If the song does not have any additional arrangements, the default setting is ‘Default arrangement’. Tithe.ly ChMS allows up to 3 arrangements to be imported using the import function.
- Length (e.g. 5:23)
- BPM (Tempo or Beats Per Minute)
- Male key
- Female key
- Starting key
- Ending key
Performing your import
Log in to your Tithe.ly ChMS account and navigate to the Admin Area and click on Songs → Import. Once the page has loaded, select whether you’re importing from a CSV or from Planning Center Online. Then select your import file to upload and click ‘Continue’.
Your import file will then upload to our server. Depending on the size of your import file and the speed of your internet connection, this may take some time.
If importing from PCO, you will receive a notification that the import is complete. If you are importing via CSV, a page will then load and ask for you to match the corresponding import column to its Tithe.ly ChMS counterpart. Each column gives you an overwrite option, which only applies if you’re updating songs that already exist in the database.
Once your columns are matched, scroll to the bottom to configure how the script will handle new and duplicate songs. Double check that your columns match correctly, and when you’re ready, click the ‘Import’ button. This may take some time depending on how many records you are importing.
Once your import is complete you will receive a notification and a record of how many records were updated.
