Installing a Check Scanner

Setup your Check Scanner in a few quick minutes! Please note, the Device Control will need to be installed before you can begin making deposits. We'll guide you through the installation below.

How to Install Your Check Scanner

User Permissions needed to access Giving 
Account Owner, Admin, or Limited Access with access granted to the Giving Product. If you have additional questions please reference this article.

1. Login to your Tithely account.

2. Select Giving from the left-hand menu.

3. Select Check Scanning from the Giving menu.

4. Click the arrow to the right of Check Scanning, In the drop-down menu, click Portal. A new tab will open, allowing a single sign on to the ProfitStars portal.

   

5. Once you are in the ProfitStars portal:
   a) Scroll down and click on the ‘Remote Deposit Complete’ link OR on the Dashboard menu on the left, choose Transactions and click on the Remote Deposit Complete link.

   

6. Follow the instructions below specific to if you are using a PC or Mac device.

Installing on PC

You must use Google Chrome.

1. Click the DeviceControlInstaller that loads on the bottom left of the page.

2. Once the install wizard tool appears, click Install

   

3. If a prompt appears to ensure that you have the credentials to continue installation, click OK.

4. Enter your username and password and click Install Software.

5. A message that reads “Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to this computer?” may appear, click ‘Yes’.

Installing on Mac

You must use Google Chrome. 

1. Click the DeviceControlInstaller download that loads on the bottom left of the page.

2. Once the install wizard tool appears, click Continue.

   

3. Click Install

4. If prompted, enter your username and password and click Install Software.

5. A ‘Complete Device Control Setup’ window will appear, click Complete.

6. When prompted, enter your username and password and click Update Settings.

7. Once the software is installed, a message will read The installation was successful. Click Close.
