A Record

An A record is a type of DNS record that allows the domain to point to specific server. The “A” in “A record” stands for address.

Admin

A site admin is a user with admin permissions.

Analytics

Website tracking and statistics.

Block

Blocks are used to add content to any page.

Cache

Temporary storage of a website.

Collection

A collection of Programs.

Content

The content area of the site is a behind-the-scenes view of all content on the website (Example: Pages, collections, sermons).

CSS

CSS is a custom style sheet language.

Default Images

Images you upload to be used throughout the site when one is not available.

DNS

Domain name settings. This is essentially the control panel for the domain.

Domain Registrar

The company a domain is registered through.

Domain/URL

The website address - www.churchname.com.

Driver

Drivers are a legacy item used to add content to the homepage.

Element

Elements are found within Blocks. Elements are used to add additional content within a single block.

FAB (Frequent Action Button)

The FAB is the edit pencil found on the top left of every page (except the home page). It is used to edit page options and settings (Example: add event, edit SEO, etc.).

Favicon

Icon found in a browser tab.

Footer

The footer is the section at the very bottom of every page (this is not a block).

Head Code

Head code contains information about a web page's properties and links to external related files.

Header

The header is the top area of every page (note: this is not a block). The home page header is unique and includes a headline, sub-heading and a button. Page headers pull in the page title and associated information (ie: event info, blog publish date, etc). The homepage header includes two layout options, static (full-width) banner or a slideshow (not full-width).

Launched

Launched means a website is live with a unique domain and pointing to Tithe.ly servers.

Legacy

Version of Tithe.ly Sites prior to the release of Site Design.

Link

Links are URLs used when adding buttons, menus items, videos and more.

Maintenance Mode

With Maintenance Mode “On”, all guest to the website will be re-directed to a Temporarily Offline page. The Offline page displays your organizations contact information and a login link for admins.

Menu

Site navigation bar.

Meta Description

Meta descriptions are an HTML attribute providing a brief summary of the webpage. Google will often times display the meta description.

Meta Keywords

Meta Keywords are a type of meta tag that appear in the code of a webpage. The tag allows search engines to find your page and appear in search results. The single most important thing to keep in mind is to ensure that each keyword accurately reflects the content of your page.

Nameserver

Nameservers are part of an extensive database called the Domain Name System (DNS), which acts like a directory for devices and the IP addresses attached to them.

Organization Groups

Organizational groups are used to organize users into different groups (ie: staff, pastors, volunteers, speakers, etc).

Page Menu

A page menu is the horizontal menu that displays on a page. Vertical page menus appear on Programs.

Primary Domain

The domain customers use to launch their Tithe.ly Site. By default, the staging domain is used until the customer is ready to launch with their domain.

Program

Programs are nested under a Collection.

Redirects

A way to forward a URL to an alternate URL.

RSS Feed

RSS is a web feed that allows users and applications to access updates to websites in a standardized, computer-readable format.

SEO

Search Engine Optimization.

Site Builder

The primary admin who adds sites to the subscription is the only one who can navigate through the site builder. They click 'Sites' in their dashboard to start. They will enter general church information and select a template. This is used to create a staging site.

Site Design

The area of the website used to edit the design (ie: colors, fonts, logo, etc) of the website.

Slugs

A URL slug is the part of a URL or link that comes after the domain extension.

SSL

Protocols for establishing a secure connection.

Staging Site (staging domain)

The site that is created after the builder is complete. We give customers a staging domain such as churchname.tithelysetup.com.

Sticky Menu

A sticky menu is a fixed navigation menu that remains visible as the user scrolls down and moves about a site.

Subpage / Associated Pages

A page associated with a parent page or program.

Topbar Menu

This is the narrow menu at the top of the website (above the main menu), it is typically used as a secondary menu for social icon links and search bar.

Translations

The translations panel is used to change hard coded website language to the language of choice.

Unconfirmed - Subscribers

Newsletter subscribers that have not yet confirmed their subscription.

User

Someone who has access to the website or has a profile on the website for use on the staff page
