Important Note: Your organization must be confirmed by ProfitStars before you can scan checks. If you have not submitted your application, please start with our article on Setting Up Check Scanning for Your Church.
Important Note: Check Scanning will only work in the Google Chrome browser.
How to Scan a Check With Tithe.ly Check Scanning
Login to your Tithe.ly Admin account.
Select Giving from the left-hand menu.
Select Check Scanning from the Giving menu.
Click the arrow to the left of Check Scanning. In the drop-down menu, click Portal and a new tab will open, allowing a single sign on to the ProfitStars portal.
Once you are in the ProfitStars portal:
Scroll down and click on the ‘Remote Deposit Complete’ link
OR on the Dashboard menu on the left, choose 'Transactions' and click on the ‘Remote Deposit Complete’ link.
Click the ‘Create New Deposit’ button.
Enter details: Deposit Name, Number of checks, and Total Amount

Please Note: Location will be set based on the bank information used during the set-up process. To change your location, click here.
Click the ‘Create’ button.
Scan checks individually.
🌟 Tithe.ly Tip: Between scans, if you wait a few moments and click the ‘Refresh’ button, the Deposit Amount will load.
Please Note: If the deposit amount says ‘To Be Keyed’ wait a few more moments and click the ‘Refresh’ button again.
Check that the Control amount matches the Scanned amount, then click the ‘Complete Deposit’ button.
Either click the ‘Create New Deposit’ button to scan a new check batch or click the ‘Close Deposit(s)’ button.
A pop up will ask ‘Are you sure you want to close the selected deposit(s)? Click ‘Close’.
An additional pop up will confirm the deposit has been closed. Click ‘Ok’.
Return to Tithe.ly Giving and click Check Scanning from the Giving menu on the left-hand side.
Find your deposit under the Deposit Name given when creating the check deposit in ProfitStars.
Click the green arrow symbol on the right to view the details of your newly scanned check batch.
